Following on a first acquisition of 24 Rafales signed in 2015, the Arab Republic of Egypt has purchased an additional 30 Rafales in May 2021, bringing to 54 the number of Rafales flying under Egyptian colors.

This new order makes the Egyptian Air Force both the first and the largest Air Force after the French Air Force to operate such a fleet of Rafales.

This figure emphasizes the confidence of the highest Egyptian authorities in the Rafale, latest-generation multi-role fighter, capable of meeting the country’s operational requirements and enabling Egypt, with full sovereignty, to secure its geostrategic position in the region.
